2012 Lamborghini Aventador – Lamborghini is really good at creating sinister super sports cars, but it is equally as talented at naming them. According to the company, “Aventador” was the name of a bull that entered into battle on October 1993 at the Saragossa Arena, earning the “Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera” for its outstanding courage.

Based on the production Aventador LP700-4, the Aventador J is a one-off reinterpretation of Lamborghini’s two-passenger coupe, sans roof and windshield. With generous applications of carbon fiber and some unusual styling elements, the Aventador J is “the most extreme expression of Lamborghini DNA in existence,” the company says. According to Lamborghini, the letter J is derived from FIA’s Appendix J, which defines the technical specification of racecars in various classes. It is also a subtle reference to the 1970 Lamborghini Jota, a one-off version of the classic Miura that reportedly was built to conform to the Appendix J regs.
